May 7, 2019 – It Started with a Pathetic Obit
Program given by Linda Greethurst, an instructor for the Iowa Genealogical Society.
Noticing that her husband’s grandmother’s obit was “pathetic,” in that it told very little of her life, Linda decided to find out more about her and the time she lived in. Born in 1854 and dying in 1921, this grandmother saw many inventions, wars, fashions, and household appliances for the first time. Linda is writing her story (and 63 others!) to include much more than just when they were “hatched, matched and dispatched. ” Let her inspire you to do the same..
This program is free and open to the public starting at 7:00 pm in the Winterset Public Library. After a short break, the MCGS business meeting will be conducted for those who would like to participate.
