January 8, 2019 – Farris Cemetery Update

Program by Molly Clause, Madison County Historic Preservation Commissioner

Molly, and a group known as the Farris Cemetery Advocacy Group, are giving this cemetery some much needed love and respect.  Stones plowed to one side 50 years ago are finding their way back to the graves they belong to.  The Office of the State Archeologist  used Ground Penetrating Radar to discover many more graves than are documented.  They group has engaged several community groups and used various fund-raising techniques.  Come hear how far they have come and what is still planned.

Tuesday, January 8, 7:00 pm, Winterset Public Library meeting room. Business meeting for those who care to stay after the program.
