MCGS October 1, 2024 Meeting
MCGS member Glenn York will present Madison County Pioneers at our October 1 meeting in the Winterset Public Library. Note that the MCGS meeting will begin at a special time – 6:00 pm, 30 minutes earlier than usual.
He will explore his maternal grandmother’s ancestry in Madison County. Buried here are her parents, grandparents, and great grandparents, along with four of her 2nd great grandparents. Five of Glenn’s ancestor families arrived in the Peru area before 1860: Allcock, Hillman, Hoover, Ray, and Travis. These names were once common in the Peru community, but today few descendants remain in Madison County.
Come hear all about it on Tuesday, October 1, starting at 6:00 pm (one-half hour earlier) in the Winterset Public Library meeting room. All are welcome.
